About Laura

Laura Andromalos

At age 16, Laura knew she wanted to become a Registered Dietitian. She graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Nutritional Sciences, completed her dietetic internship at Mayo Clinic Florida, and received a MS in Health Communication from Boston University. She is a specialist in weight management with a focus on bariatric nutrition and has been working in the field since 2009. In 2016, she became a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). She is the Nutrition Program Manager at Northwest Weight and Wellness in Everett, WA, and also practices as a bilingual CDE Coach for Fit4D. She started studying Spanish as an adult so she could better serve her Latino patients.  Prior to moving to Seattle, she was the Bariatric Nutrition Manager at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She has received Level 1 and 2 Certificates in Adult Weight Management from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and was appointed as subject matter expert for writing and reviewing the Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM) exam. She has presented at conferences around the world and has published articles in scientific journals and consumer-focused magazines. She was a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Evidence Analysis Library bariatric surgery work group. In 2014, she was awarded the Susan T. Borra Fellowship in Nutrition Communication. She holds leadership roles in the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). In her spare time, she loves traveling with her husband and staying active with flying trapeze.
